The death of James N. Thomas, age 79, one of Putnam County’s prominent pioneer farmers occurred this morning at 8:30 o’clock at his home 2 miles west of Brick Chapel after an illness of 9 weeks of paralysis.  The funeral will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock at the Dunkard Church conducted by the Rev. Cornelius Airhart. Besides his widow Mr. Thomas leaves six children: Andy Thomas; Mrs. Emma Bachelder; George Thomas; Milton Thomas; Harvey Thomas and Purn Thomas. Mr. Thomas died on his wedding anniversary, he having been married just 58 years today. The woman’s Relief Corps will entertain their friends at a tea tomorrow afternoon from 2:30 to 4 o’clock at the home of Mr. and Mrs. LD Snider.
